Is your photographer certified?

If you do an internet search for “Middle-Tennessee professional photographer” you will literally find hundreds of websites.  If you ask your friends, co-workers, or family for a recommendation, someone will undoubtedly have a cousin, friend, or sister who “has a nice camera” and “takes good pictures.”  But is this always the best choice?  Unfortunately, the advent of the digital camera has made it possible for anyone to hang out their shingle and claim to be a professional photographer.

So how do you find your way through the countless websites of those claiming to be professionals to those who are truly qualified to capture your family’s priceless memories?  By using a Certified Professional Photographer!  Did you know that fewer than 3,000 photographers in the United States are Certified Professional Photographers?  There are only 36 (yes, THIRTY-SIX!) Certified Professional Photographers in the entire state of Tennessee.  This means that 97% of all photographers do not meet the stringent requirements set forth by the Photographic Certification Commission to achieve this mark of excellence.

When you see the Certified Professional Photographer emblem, you know you’ve found a photographer you can trust!

Michelle is the only Certified Professional Photographer in Cannon County, Tennessee as well as the surrounding counties.  With this designation, you may be assured that she will produce the best possible images from your maternity, newborn, baby, child, teen, high school senior, or engagement portrait session.

So, what is a Certified Professional Photographer?

A Certified Professional Photographer (or CPP) is a designation that is granted by the Photographic Certification Commission, the world’s leading certification agency of imaging professionals.

Each photographer who proudly displays the Certified Professional Photographer Logo has earned their Certification after meeting rigorous requirements measuring their artistic and technical competence, including a comprehensive written exam, and have also successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval.

Every five years, Michelle must renew her Certification credentials by participating in continuing education programs and periodically submitting work for critical evaluation. This helps assure you that as a Certified Professional Photographer, Michelle maintains her level of expertise and continues to develop new skills and techniques.

Your professional photographer will record some of the most important moments in your life.  Why would you trust those irreplaceable memories to someone who “has a nice camera” and “takes good pictures”?  Every session brings new challenges, but you can be assured that Michelle has the creativity and technical skills to deliver the best possible images for you.
