2009 in Review…

I can’t believe another year has come and gone already! As I look back over 2009, I am truly humbled by the many families who have trusted me with their priceless memories. The beautiful places I’ve been able to go this year to photograph landscapes… I still can’t believe I’ve been so blessed. As I browsed through some of my favorite images, I decided to put together a slideshow to share.

Thank you so much for a wonderful year! I’m looking forward to all that 2010 has in store

Time flies when you’re having fun…

It’s so hard to believe that this little fellow is already walking! It seems like only yesterday I was taking his newborn portraits!

And we had so much fun at his “sitting up” session…

But the “walking session” was the absolute best! I love it when their little personalities start to emerge…

Don’t worry Ms. J, I think we got a couple of possibilities to complete your wall grouping too Here’s my favorite!

Four years old…

This is the magic age for Ms. G’s grandchildren. When they are four years old, she commissions a custom portrait session to celebrate. It is the absolute PERFECT age for this type of session because their personalities are developed and you can see them shine through in the images. Miss M is a perfect example of this. She is all about dress up, and imagination, lipgloss, and nail polish… she even had the CUTEST stick on earrings! This session definitely brought out her inner princess

Of course, I can’t leave out Miss M’s handsome older brother. When Miss M was getting changed into her causal clothes, I broke the rules and had Mr. C stand in grandma’s flower bed! ::gasp:: I told him not to worry, that I would take the heat for breaking the rules and he gave me the sweetest smile. (Don’t worry, I told him never to do it again LOL!)

This brother and sister have the sweetest relationship. You could just see how much they love each other.

Ms. G and Ms. J, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph C and M. They were such perfect little subjects! I can’t wait to share the rest of the images from their session with you!

Freshman Pictures for Miss A {Woodbury, TN Photographer}

I had the pleasure of photographing Miss A on Thursday in celebration of her freshman year of high school. She was so much fun!!! Much to her mother’s dismay, I told her repeatedly that I love her attitude. It might not be fun in day to day life, but it photographs beautifully!

They thought I had lost my mind when I stopped in the middle of the road and jumped out to take this image. I’m sure it seemed really weird at the time, but something about it captivated me, and the image came out beautifully…

As soon as I saw this one in the back of the camera, I knew it would be my favorite. Don’t you think she looks like Melissa Gilbert in her younger days? What a stunning beauty!!!

Miss A was such a sweetheart. I’m sure she will skip her way through high school, just like she did in this image…

I also took a few of her gorgeous older sisters, but sorry mama, you’ll have to wait to see those

Handsome Young Lad {Woodbury Child Photographer}

Allow me to introduce Mr. B. Isn’t he handsome??? He has the most GORGEOUS brown eyes!!!

His mama really thought he was giving me a run for my money, but he wasn’t! Sometimes, I just have to play the game by their rules LOL!! I really wanted him to stand in the grass, but he didn’t want to. No problem, just stand on my chair!

This would be soooo cute printed as a 12×24 (that is how it’s cropped here).

Oh, and I did get him to stand in the grass. Sorry, A! You’ll just have to wait to see that one!!!

My friend and colleague, Kimberly Hill of Bliss Portraiture drove in from Myrtle Beach, SC to help me photograph the wedding last weekend. She brought her CCB with her (CCB>>>CrazyChineseBaby LOL!). Miss Mia has never been to a farm before. She was taken with the entire experience. She got to see a lot of things up close for the very first time – cows, chickens, she even got to hold a baby goat. Her favorite part? The FLOWERS!!! The night before she left for home, I took her out into the field in front of my home and had a mini portrait session in the flowers.

This is one of my favorites

And THIS is the girl I saw all weekend. She is just a beam of sunshine!!! I just love her. I wish you could hear her say, “I’m a farm girl.” So cute!!! :-D

My mama knows your mama… {Murfreesboro children’s photographer}

That’s how this started. I got an email that said, “…like any good southern girl would say, my mama is friends with your mama.” and the rest is history! I can’t even begin to tell you how GOOD this barely four year old, spit fire of a red head is!!! She did anything, and I mean ANYTHING that I asked her to do. She was an absolute JOY to photograph!!!

And see all that red hair flying? This afternoon, she is getting it cut into a short little bob. I am soooo glad I was available before the haircut!!

C, I am so glad my mama is friends with your mama! Miss M was the perfect little model. I’ll be in touch soon!!
